This essential annual service replaces any clay lost during the year through wind and water erosion, and ensures that the courts are in tip-top condition and ready for the new season.
Har-Tru clay courts have been installed throughout the UK since 1994. Made from billion-year-old Pre-Cambrian metabasalt found in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, USA, the natural green color of Har-Tru is classically clay and instantly recognizable.
Har-Tru is extremely angular, a very important quality when it comes to clay court construction. The angularity helps the particles lock together to form a stable, durable playing surface.
Maintaining clay courts is relatively simple. A few daily routines can keep Har-Tru courts looking and playing great for years to come. These routines can take as little as 15 minutes a day and involve three things: brushing, watering, and rolling.
In addition to the Har-Tru courts, White Horse Tennis Centre also has six indoor Plexipave courts – the surface of the Australian Open. Repainted in 2011 with Plexipave IW in attractive purple & green colours, the courts were specifically slowed down to aid coaching & teaching.
Plexipave (UK) is the authorised UK agent for Plexipave, Plexicushion & Har-Tru.
