TRUCLAY is the first truly all-weather clay tennis court. What’s so amazing is that your footing remains safe and substantially unchanged, whether it’s wet, dry, hot or freezing cold.
TRUCLAY courts have a proven track record and have been installed throughout Europe and the United States. Now they are available in the UK through leading tennis court specialists Plexipave (UK) ltd.
Care of a court is simple, requiring little expertise, equipment or knowledge – an occasional sweep and spray of water and the court is ready for play. TRUCLAY courts are also extremely durable as the polypropylene membrane contributes to a long life. The lines are a special filler material that last for years.
TRUCLAY is easily applied to an existing hard court surface with minimal preparation. The membrane gets fully glued down and in-filled with Har-Tru clay – your choice of European Red or American Green – to give it the look and feel of a clay court, but without the associated care. Playing lines are painted in place during installation, and last for several years without attention.
Paddington Sports Club in West london already has seven of our Plexipave courts. Now, two have recently been resurfaced in the attractive colours of the US Open. The dark blue play area provides and excellent visual backdrop for the green surround.
Edgbaston Priory gets Australian Open surface.
Tennis court specialists Plexipave (UK) have recently installed their Plexicushion Prestige surface in the new six-court indoor facility at Edgbaston Priory Club, Birmingham. The High Performance Centre now has the same surface as the Australian Open tournament.
As part of major redevelopment plans for the club, the L.T.A. has invested up to £5million to support and develop the clubs performance programme. The development will also include a permanent grass show court used for the pre-Wimbledon international AEGON classic women’s event.
Plexicushion Prestige was chosen to provide players with a Grand Slam surface offering the highest levels of performance and cushioning.
The cushioned base is a special blend of latex, rubber and plastic particles, forming resilient layers that absorb body shock and reduces muscle fatigue. The finished Plexipave surface provides a consistent and uniform bounce, long lasting colour, outstanding durability and allows the speed of play to be specified.
